Congratulations are in order!

I’ll bet that others have summer grants and opportunities but I wanted to let you know about these two terrific awards:
Tonya Foster received a fellowship from the McDowell Colony for artists. She will be spending June and July in New Hampshire working on her poetry.
Ozan Aksoy will be doing fieldwork among the Kurdish Alevi immigrants from Turkey residing in the city of Cologne. The fieldwork is sponsored by an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Pre-Dissertation Award from the Council for European Studies at Columbia University.
These are truly impressive grants and strong acknowledgements of the excellence of their work. I hope you both have great experiences and please remember to blog here about it!
