Project: Photographic Representation of Children of War

Aida Izadpanah

Aida Izadpanah is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Psychology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, working on her dissertation, “Analysis of the Photographic Representation of Children’s Experience of War by Humanitarian Organizations.” She holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning (2002, valedictorian), and a Bachelor’s degree in Theoretical Economics (1999), both from the University of Tehran in Iran. She authored a book in Farsi titled Child, Play and City: Process, Principles and Criteria for Planning and Design of Children’s Play Spaces, published in 2004 by Shahrdariha Organization, Tehran. Since 2005 Aida has been a research associate with the Children’s Environment Research Group at the Graduate Center. From 2007-2009 she taught in the Children’s Studies Department at Brooklyn College. In the summer of 2007, Aida interned for the Midday Workshops Committee-DPI/NGO 60th Annual Conference at the United Nations in New York City.
