Rosemarie A. Roberts is a Ph.D. candidate in Social-Personality Psychology Graduate and University Center of the City University of New York. She is a recipient of numerous awards including National Science Foundation Fellowship and American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship. She teaches psychology, critical race theory, qualitative research methods and Afro-Caribbean dance. Her dissertation research focuses on the teaching of critical consciousness through African-derived Black dance. She has been published in journals including Feminism and Psychology, The International Journal of Critical Psychology and Critical Theory and Practice and has contributed chapters to edited volumes including Speedbumps: A Student Friendly Guide to Qualitative Research (Weis & Fine, 2000) and The Unknown City: Poor and Working Class Young Adults in Urban America (Fine & Weis, 1998).
