Project: Neighborhood Dynamics and Pandemic Effect on Restaurant Closings in New York City
Qiyao Pan is a Ph.D. student in sociology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She is also a Graduate Editorial Assistant for City & Community, a Junior Scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality, a Demography Fellow at CUNY Institute for Demographic Research, and a teaching assistant for the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences program at the Graduate Center. Her research interests include urban sociology, international migration, race and ethnicity, spatial demography and computational sociology.
Currently she is working on several projects that mainly investigate ethnoracial inequality in the spatial distribution of neighborhood services in New York City, which have received support from Stone Center Junior Scholarship, Dr. Louise Lennihan Arts and Sciences Grant, Pre-Dissertation Award, Provost’s Digital Innovation Grant, and Doctoral Student Research Grant.
