Project: Algorithmic Love

Sandra Moyano Ariza

I’m a fourth-year doctoral student in English at the GC. My research works at the intersection of philosophy and digital technology, with interests in the fields of affect theory, speculative philosophy, new materialisms, and feminist ontologies. More specifically, my work grapples with the highly computed and accelerated experiences of love, intimacy, and relationships. After working on dating apps in media representation and popular culture, I am starting a project that looks at big data and dating apps to rethink the impact of these on bodily sensations, human subjectivity, and love itself.
