Helena Shaskevich is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at the Graduate Center, CUNY. Her dissertation examines the work of 1970s women’s media collectives, with a specific focus on biopolitical activism. Her primary research interests include feminist art, new media and body art, and intersections of art and activism. When not in the library or teaching, Helena can be found contemplating the meta-ness of online cat videos.
